Health Funds

Â
Ordering contact lenses online should still make it easy to use your optical extras. Contact Lens Depot provides a health fund claimable invoice with eligible prescription contact lens orders, so you can submit your receipt to your health fund after purchase.
How it works
- Order your prescribed contact lenses online. Choose the exact lens brand and prescription your optometrist prescribed.
- Receive your invoice by email. After your order is placed, a health fund claimable invoice will be sent to your inbox.
- Submit your invoice to your health fund. Upload or send the invoice through your health fund's usual claim process.
- Your rebate depends on your cover. The amount you receive back will vary depending on your health fund, policy, optical extras limits and remaining annual balance.
Can I claim contact lenses from Contact Lens Depot?
Yes, if your health fund policy includes contact lenses under optical extras and you have remaining limits available. Contact Lens Depot is affiliated with all health funds and provides an invoice you can use for eligible claims.
Please note that health funds generally only cover contact lenses that require a prescription. Cosmetic or non-prescription lenses may not be eligible for optical extras rebates.
What should I send to my health fund?
Use the invoice sent to your inbox after ordering. Most customers can submit this through their health fund app, online member portal, or by sending a screenshot or PDF copy directly to their fund.
Your health fund will assess the claim based on your level of cover and remaining optical extras allowance.
Why order the exact lenses you were prescribed?
Contact lenses are fitted medical devices, not just a product with a prescription number. The brand, material, base curve, diameter and replacement schedule all matter. For toric, multifocal and specialty lenses, the details are even more important.
When ordering online, always choose the exact lens your optometrist prescribed. If you are not sure, check your contact lens box or prescription before ordering.
Important note
Rebate amounts are not set by Contact Lens Depot. Your health fund decides the final rebate based on your policy, level of cover and remaining extras limit.
